Introduction to Canine Massage


Course introduction:
We've designed this course specifically for animal caregivers interested in bringing the healing modality of massage home to their dogs (or cats!) at home.

At-home massage can be used for numerous situations and animal life-styles such as: 
  • Pain control for arthritis
  • Faster recovery times after surgery or injury
  • Relief for anxiety, stress, or grief
  • Improved human-animal bonding
  • Pre- and post-workout for athletic animals
  • Palliative & hospice comfort care

​Classroom time: 4 classroom hours (+ 1hour lunch break)
​Cost: $175.00 (Summer discount applied!  Regular cost = $225)
Biosecurity:
  • Class sizes are small
  • Masks are worn inside the building at all times

  • Education & experience: None
  • Age: At least 18 years old of at time of enrollment​​​​​​

​ Required supplies: 
  • Note-taking supplies (pen & paper)
  • A face mask, worn while inside the building at all times

  • History of massage
  • Physiology of massage
  • Practical canine anatomy ​
  • Body mechanics & safety
  • Basic massage techniques & strokes
  • Massage sequence & hands-on practice!

Our Instructors:
Our instructors are veterinarians, technicians, and massage therapists eager to share their knowledge and love of animal massage with you.  In addition to expertise in their field, they bring a passion for utilizing massage as a healing modality throughout all animal life-stages and lifestyles.
