Practitioner 02
Course introduction:
Building on PRACT01, this course focuses on the physiology of massage its effect on the animal body. Students will continue to build their knowledge of anatomy, physiology as well as continue to develop their hands-on massage technique skills. Upon successful completion of PRACT01 and PRACT02 (this course), students receive their certification as a small animal massage therapist.
This course curriculum incorporates multimodal, kinesthetic learning utilizing group work, hands-on practice with mannequins, stuffed dogs, and supervised interaction with live animals. The goal of this course is to facilitate integration of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and behavior concepts into the technical practice of massage by building on training received in PRACT01.
Completion of the self-paced and clinical portion of the curriculum and independently case studies allow for compilation of learned material and the development of practitioner skills.
This course consists of three parts 1) self-paced module 2) in-person clinical intensive 3) independent case work.
The self-paced portion of this course is available for students to work through independently and at their own pace - perfect for busy schedules and balancing family time with school requirements!
The in-person clinical intensive consists of 3 days of fast-paced hands-on learning with small classroom sizes and high teacher to student ratio.
Students will complete three case studies after successfully finishing both the self-paced and in-person course work.

- Age: At least 18 years of at time of enrollment

Module 1. Self-Paced Learning (19 hours)
- Review recorded lecture content at your own pace.
- Complete written exams included with each section.
- Submit written section exams for grading. Students are eligible for Module 2 upon receiving a passing grade on section exams.
Module 2. In-Person Clinical Intensive (26 hours)
- Students who have successfully completed Module 1 are eligible for Module 2.
- Join us at our school facility in Wheat Ridge, CO for this 3-day clinical intensive training.

- Technical skills competence is assessed by a practical examination. Students are eligible for Module 3 after attending all Module 2 classes and receiving a passing grade on the practical examination.
Module3. Independent Case Work (36 hours)
- Students who have successfully completed Module 2 are eligible for Module 3.
- Students will complete 4 case studies independently and submit case information for review and grading.
- Case work must be completed within 6 months of finishing the In-Person course work.
Student must first successfully complete Practitioner 01 to enroll in this class.
